streams once crystal clear
\nnow thick with ooze
\nwith vomit black
\nfish once skipped

this vile
\nthis truly nasty
\nthis despicable
\nadvance
\nthe oil the sputum
\nlying in
\nthe jungle
\nand not by chance<\/p>\n
the vastness of this horror
\nthe silence that’s now left
\nonce a living breathing
\nsoulful jungle
\nnow bereft<\/p>\n
lost
\na violence settles
\nTexaco’s belief
\nto get out of this place
\nand leave behind
\njust growing grief<\/p>\n
Chevron mighty Chevron
\na corporate whose power
\ncan topple
\nany mountain
\nthis may be the final hour
\nthe indigenous there are ravaged
\ntheir water compromised
\nmany of them sick and ill
\nthe courts have realised
\nbut what does Chevron do about that
\nfights with all its might
\nthe jungle has been wiped out
\nwe all know that’s not right
\nThe courts have said
\nthat Chevron really has to pay
\nbut what do they do
\nturn their heads,

I so appeal to both of you
\nfor this is one mean streak
\nit permeates a virgin place
\nthe crude clearly did leak
\nyou have the means to clean it up
