There was a time within
\nMy living memory
\nWhen I was wild and freedom
\nWas my thing
\nCaptivity the enemy of wildness
\nDerangement and delusions
\nThough does bring
\nConfusion and a mania of purpose
\nA sort of imbecility I feel
\nOne I had a love and I so enjoyed my days
\nBut now being a solitary
\nI deal<\/p>\n
Is sadness and a dark dementia
\nConcrete all around me everywhere
\nThe sun burns hot upon my back
\nNo muds for me to try
\nAnd obviate the problem
\nand of course I don\u2019t know why<\/p>\n
Just dying here of loneliness
\nGoing raving mad
\nThere were days when I recall the joy
\nBut now alone and sad
\nI fester in my shadow
\nI wanted so to see
\nMy friend of many years before
\nTo hear her voice and be<\/p>\n
In her wondrous aura
\nImagining her soul
\nAnd I am so much poorer
\nAnd it\u2019s taking a toll
\nA meaningless existence
\nInexpressive and inane
\nI now know that I loved her
