Apparently the sheep Farmers
\nDrag their feet a lot
\nThey get a bit complacent
\nAnd good husbandry is not
\nAdhered to when it\u2019s needed
\nWhen the mothers need the feed
\nHaving twins and triplets
\nReally it does lead
\nA good Merino sheep to suffer
\nPregnancy we know
\nmothers need to be cared for
\nNeed support so all can grow
\nNeglected in their hours of need
\nSingle mothers too
\nEnd up losing babies
\nIf cold weather does ensue<\/p>\n
And we know in South Australia
\nAt night
\nTemperatures Thy fall away
\nAnd The fight
\nto keep young babies safe
\nOn any given day
\nIs a fight they have been losing
\nEvery little waif
\nNeeds love and care
\nThe prophecy when tiny
\nIt\u2019s a need
\nAnd farmers have got to man up
\nAnd, increase the feed<\/p>\n
Otherwise the inevitable happens
\nEvery year
\nMillions don\u2019t withstand the harshness
\nAnd that\u2019s very clear
\nSome 15 million babies perish every year
\nunbelievable carnage
\nSo much suffering and fear<\/p>\n
For babies it\u2019s impossible
\nThough the industry just hides
\nIt\u2019s worried that animal rights will get involved
\nAnd so decides
\nTo not publicise the statistics
\nAnd unsettling the trade
\nIn WOOL where they make their profits
\nSo on their heads is laid<\/p>\n
The admission that the carnage
\nIn inclement weather they
\nMust stop making excuses
\nAnd care for them to say
\nThere is a need and sacrifice so many
\nAll down to Lack of care
\nThe duty that a farmer has
\nIs seemingly not there
\nThe lives o little baby lambs
\nSacrificed each year
\nBecause the farmers cannot
\nGet their arses into gear
\nAn of course wool has been suffering
\nSuch cruelty and pain
\nShameless brazen laggards
\nWatching their profits drain
\nIt\u2019s wicked and unquotable
\nImagine freezing rain
\nAnd little lambs go through it
\nReally it\u2019s insane
\nAustralian Wool should suffer
\nThe agony it\u2019s caused
\nSo many little lives cut short
\nBecause the farmers paused<\/p>\n
It has been amoral
\nA really slippery slope
\nThey couldn\u2019t get out of their beds it seems
\nAnd the babies had no hope
\nThe wool trade needs a wake up call
\nAll these deaths and gloom
\nDown to neglect and laziness
\nReally there\u2019s no room
\nFor such ugly practices
\nThe WOOL trade has to be
\nShowing moral fibre
\nNot such dishonesty
\nThe injustice and the artfulness
\nTheir villainous display
\nWhere tiny babies come into this world
\nAnd are dead within a day<\/p>\n
To me it\u2019s criminality
\nIt\u2019s evil to the core
\nThere is no excuse
\nFor Animal abuse
\nThat much I am sure
\nSelfish egoistic
\nMust be made to leave the scene
