It always makes me sick inside
\nto hear those carnivores
\n“I am a churchgoer”
\nI abide by all the laws
\noh good you clearly
\nare a wondrous angel of a soul
\nand yet you chomp on animal flesh
\nthat makes you an arse ole
\nin my book but you don’t realise
\nwhat animals go through
\nthe agony of having
\ntheir calves
\nstolen
\nthey do
\ncry for days
\nthey bellow
\nbut you what do you say
\nI am a churchgoer
\nand read my bible everyday
\nand what about the animals
\noh they were created, so
\nwe could do whatever
\nthats what our bibles show
\nthe reason
\nanimals are here
\nthat we decide their fate
\nwe eat them and we drink their milk
\nfor they want us to feel great
\nand clearly that makes them happy
\nthey feel fulfilled so we
\nbreed lots of them in factories
\nso more of them can be
\nhappy that’s what happening
\nmoney’s not the king
\nwe have dominion over
\nevery living thing
\nthe argument is everywhere
\nthe ostrich in the sand
\nthe same routine
\nI have to hear
\ncos I don’t understand
\nwhen I say, I’m a vegan
\nwell they look down their nose
\nyour too old to be a hippie!
\nbut not to old to write some prose
\nand tell the world of carnivores
\nand those who chomp on meat
\nthat where they will be going
