It happens almost every night
\nWhere mothers stop to feed
\nThe outback is a lonely place
\nWhere shooters oft succeed
\nconvinced it\u2019s entirely principled
\nand faithful to a tee
\nThat they all Re honourable
\nWith sense of constancy<\/p>\n
Drive their trucks and switch on their lights
\nAnd gun the females down
\nOften harbouring baby joeys
\nWho withe their mothers drown
\nIn blood and guts and bullets
\nFoul chicanery
\nAnd it\u2019s all done for the Meat Trade
\nPure minded naturally<\/p>\n
One such glimpse unfortunately
\nA great mKe kangaroo
\nStanding over a female
\nAnd his baby a shocking view
\nCrying in his silence
\nHis love dead on the earth
\nSharing his displeasure
\nAnd clearly the worth<\/p>\n
His family gunned down tragically
\nIn the dead of night
\nUnderneath a starry sky
\nHis honest true delight
\nLeft to bleed out sadly
\nA joey still alive
\nRescued by the angels
\nHopeful it might thrive<\/p>\n

\nThey lack respect completely
\nTheir paltriness we see
\nDespicable their littleness
\nDrenched in puerility.<\/p>\n
Little \u201cFloyd\u201d he perished
\nWithout his dear mama
\nHe lost hours of nutrition
\nUnderneath the star
\nOf humiliation
\nKnowing his mother died
\nProtecting him her devotion
\nOf course the world denied<\/p>\n
Pregnant females with joeys
\nAre not fair game at all
\nThe rules that every shooter receives
\nIt is a reverent call
\nDo not fire on the females
\nBe high standing in your game
\nRespect life and give deference
\nTo their claim to fame <\/p>\n
But the shooters often drunk
\nShoot with fuddled brains
\nTheir fondness for the bottle
\nUnder liquid strains
\nOften inebriated
\nBy the rigours of the day
\nThey have no shame
\nNo none at all
\nAnd do not accept the blame<\/p>\n
The wildlife is so precious
\nThe wondrous valiant Roo\u2019s
\nBorn designed for outback life
\nKilling them is bad news
\nThe meat trade is The killing trade
\nA bloody trade they be
\nA murder trade Explicit
\nIt\u2019s an obscenity<\/p>\n
The little joey died
\nPoor dear
\nHis eyes filled up with tears
\nUnrelenting slaughter
