A solitary white Bengal Tiger
\nBored out of its mind
\nContinues to circle every day
\nNo thanks to humankind
\nIn a zoo in Beijing
\nCement and bars its lot
\nIt once was wild but now of course
\nFreedom it has not<\/p>\n
Around and around
\nDay in day out
\nIs no way to exist
\nIn a bare dull prison cell
\nTrying to subsist
\nDrag out ones life
\nWhere reality
\nIs upped and gone away
\nWhere ever hour is baseless
\nLacking substance every day<\/p>\n
A meagreness a sparseness
\nEmpty and inane
\nA wild soul with a memory
\nIs now going insane
\nA character less existence
\nNothing to do all day
\nOnly uniformity
\nand monotony they say<\/p>\n
unchanging and lacking variety
\nThe Chinese ought to see
\nReally what is happening
\nThe inconstancy
\nMeanness and mediocrity
\nTotally alone
\nIn what is a chaotic state
\nThe Place it calls its home<\/p>\n
Undisciplined and unruly
\nA stammering display
\nRepetitiveness creates a strain
\nBeijing has done away
\nWith any opportunity
\nAnd freedom of choice
\nEverything is sporadic
\nA soul without a voice<\/p>\n
Just a constant permanence
\nEnduring such dismay
\nIt\u2019s March uninterrupted
\nA casualty sine say
\nDeriving very little
\nAssuming even less
\nImpotent and unable
\nTo ditch the constant stress<\/p>\n
Deprived of power the consequence
\nUndermined each hour
\nDisabled by the length of time
\nReally all the power
\nIt ever had has dwindled
\nNobbled and I paired
\nAnd now a vulnerability

A lifelessness and passivity
\napathetic he
\nIs limited by location
\nConfined indefinitely
\nGoing around in circles
\nHis pads wearing a ring
\nGiddy and light headed

Himself in all directions
\nStarless and unlit
\nReally terribly boring
\nTo damn damp to sit

\nAlways in half shadow

An insanity was building
\nYes an unsound mind
\nConfusion and depression
\nReally somewhat blind
