He was lying sighing
\nCrying deep inside
\nHis owner seemingly had tied
\nHis leg up
\nAnd denied,
\n to himself
\nThat it was cruelty
\nAround and around it went
\nAnd, around his neck as well
\nAnd over time it sent
\nHim into almost terror
\nThe agony severe
\nThe wounds as deep as ever
\nHis eyes so full of fear<\/p>\n
We found him and we rescued him
\nTook him to hospital where
\nWe sedated him and carefully
\nRemoved the ropes, aware
\nhe was
\nBut lying still the leg wounded badly
\nMaggots were eating him alive
\nLooking at him sadly
\nWe dusted the medicated powder
\nOn and overnight
\nIt killed all of the maggots
\nAnd we cleaned the wound
\nThe sight
\nof a wound
\nCleaned out and beginning
\nTo heal was flushed and we
\nBandaged it and every day
\nDid this caringly<\/p>\n
After 14 days which time
\nANgelo showed us he
\nWas grateful for the caring
\nAnd the love and we could see
\nHe laid their quietly gently
\nPurring as if to say
\nHe was so much happier
\nAnd more so everyday<\/p>\n
We found him fresh green shoots
\nTo eat juicy ones and he
\nAte them with a relish
\nAnd rapidly we did see
\nHis leg improved and his countenance
\nJust miraculously became
\nCheered by all the caring
\nAnd really very tame
\nAll our ladies loved him
\nCareessed him made him feel
\nLoved and cared for everyday
\nAnd it was very real<\/p>\n
Caring aids the healing
\nAnd “Angelo” he knew
\nThat sooner rather than later
\nHe was walking too
\nLimping yes but walking
\nGood clean food and care
\nBrought him back from the abyss
\nIt seems
\nAnd his story we thought we’d share<\/p>\n
