To the AR community everywhere
\nThe warriors on the front line
\nThose locked down at their computers
\nYet more petitions to sign
\nAll of us fight hard to save them
\nThe animals in captivity
\nFor all of their life
\nAnd tasting that strife
\nAnd we know what it feels like don\u2019t we<\/p>\n
The weather is brighter
\nThe morning skies blue
\nBuds are now bursting
\nSo much to view
\nAll of us worrying
\nBut we can see
\nDespite all the news
\nThat is on BBC
\nOutside that bubble
\nSpring surely sprang
\nIt\u2019s warmer it\u2019s clearer
\nSomething to hang<\/p>\n
Just More humility
\nPutting ourselves
\nforward a bit
\nWhere the forester delves
\nLooking for truffles
\nDigging up roots
\nAll the fresh smells
\nAnd The mud on our boots<\/p>\n
Drying much quicker
\nIn this fine balmy Air
\nTits laying blue eggs
\nWith fear everywhere
\nBut life still goes on
\nThe colours we see
\nThe smell of apple blossoms
\nSweet as can be<\/p>\n
The politics crazy
\nDepression out there
\nThey talk up the madness
\nThe grief and despair
\nBut we are the fighters
\nThe warrior clan
\nOn the front line
\nSince fighting began
\nOutside the big stores
\nWith our banners galore
\nThat keeps us happy
\nThat kind of war<\/p>\n
Fighting the fur buyers
\nThe foie gras on tap
\nCalves being ditched
\nNo time to nap
\nWe are not giving up
\nNow we have time
\nTo get on their case more
\nAnd post every rhyme<\/p>\n
We know what is happening
\nIt\u2019s affecting our lives
\nLive exports in our thoughts
\nFor the one who survives
\nWhere others collapse
\nBeaten up they
\nNeed us to fight for them
\nWant us to stay<\/p>\n
Focused and awake
\nReady to try
\nand wake up with the sun
\nBeating out of the sky
\nWith a sweep of the kite
\nIn his sonorous flight
\nChats to himself
\nPuts himself right
\nSees down below
\nA nice rat in the grass
\nAnd is down in a flash
\nJust like making a pass<\/p>\n
Every single animal
\nBorn to our world
\nNeeds love and attention
\nAnd we have been hurled
\nInto the melting pot
\nWarriors we
\nWho get our joy
\nFor what we can see
\nWhat we can do to help
\nEvery one
\nThat like us feels joy
\nIn the heat of the sun<\/p>\n
The evenings are lighter
\nThe sky colours reveal
\nBeautiful peacefulness
\nIt\u2019s the spring deal
\nFertility bursting
\nPresent events
\nMost of really
\nCan\u2019t make any sense<\/p>\n
But we have ourselves
\nOur love for each other
\nWe have a wish to be kind
\nAnd to mother
\nour animals.
\nyes we do we have to care
\nIf we are not doing it
\nWell then what\u2019s fair<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s think positivity
\nShared joyful times
\nWatching the temperature gauge as it climbs
\nAs the under story draws light
\nAnd it\u2019s blaze
\nOf colour is evident
\nIn subtle ways<\/p>\n
For myself I feel happy
\nThe birdsong I hear
\nThe bees they are busy
\nWith blossoms which cheer
\nWood pigeons courting
\nHear their bright coo\u2019s
\nDespite doom around us
\nAll this is good news<\/p>\n
We have the fulfilment
\nAnd science inside
\nWe see every movement
\nAnd we don\u2019t want to hide
\nAway it is true
\nBut we see still around
\nWe Feel what is real
\nWith our feet on the ground<\/p>\n
We have each other
\nAR brigades
\nOn Facebook on twitter
\nOur closeness ne\u2019r fades
\nWe have stood together
\nBarking away for the dolphins the orca\u2019s
\nThe Lions
\nhave held sway
\nTalking and walking and telling
\nAnd showing
\nIn wind and rain
\nWhen hell it was blowing
\nAll of us out there
\nFighting for fur
\nFighting for cruelty
\nYes we all were<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t be disheartened any of you
\nI for one love everyone
\nGood and true
\nWe still have the internet
\nWe still need to be
\nCajoling the rotters
\nWho think differently<\/p>\n
