Overwhelmed by everything
\nGreat suffering You see
\nPainfulness and unpleasantness
\nAnd bouts of purgatory
\nPatients clearly worried sick
\nSpiritless and staid
\nLong suffering and now all this
\nAs many of them fade<\/p>\n
To be anxious for those suffering
\nWanting them to stay
\nWell,and realising
\nTheir uneasiness it may
\nBe so counter productive
\nFalling back to fear
\nOn their last legs some of them
\nThose who You hold dear<\/p>\n
This story is a true one
\nAnd I am there to nurse
\nThe virus is on all our minds
\nNothing could be worse
\nAn invisible force it\u2019s out there
\nLooking for hosts indeed
\nAnd being on the front line
\nNeeding to succeed<\/p>\n
I made my undertaking
\nSeveral years before
\nServing the community
\nI was always sure
\nI had that magic in my eyes
\nHelping others through
\nWith confidence of knowing
\nI could and it was true<\/p>\n
That inner strength that character
\nA reawakening
\nI was a protector
\nReady for anything
\nUntouchable unassailable
\nThough corona\u2019s made me see
\nI feel entirely naked
\nAnd my vulnerability<\/p>\n
Also checks and balances
\nThe battle lines are drawn
\nThe armour isn\u2019t up to it
\nDespite what some have sworn
\nWe all are facing danger
\nOur inner core must be
\nShepherding our brethren
\nOut of adversity<\/p>\n
A protectress
\nStanding forthright
\nUp against the threat
\nA warrior whose magic
\nIn her stone is set
\nHaving determination
\nTo really see this through
\nThe earnestness of knowing
\nAnd having the strength to do<\/p>\n
What you were clearly born to do
\nWalk the weary way
\nThe donkey work the daily grind
\nIt\u2019s with you
\n everyday
\nYour skilfulness you\u2019re deftness
\nYour resourcefulness it\u2019s there
\nJust one look from those tender eyes
\nCan wipe away despair<\/p>\n
Can reinforce their true concerns
\nAnd be of service to
\nThose ailing and those needing
\nYour smile is all you do
\nUnyielding that\u2019s your quality
\nA trial of strength maybe
