The greenwood moss and emerald robe

\nIs a lover of great stories
\nAnd of Avebury he is true

\nWho enjoys his many outdoor pursuits

A man of many subtleties
\nKnowledgable and true
\nLiving now in Stafford
\nWho takes a hearty view
\nOf life and all the countryside
\nOf walking near and far
\nLoves the wild creations
\nIn their drama he does star<\/p>\n
The ancient sacred landscapes
\nLong barrows and the like
\nThe colours and the textures
\nAnd the tones from every hike
\nHe fills his lungs with crispness
\nAnd his heart so full of gold
\nAnd breathes in all those miracles
\nOn which of course he is sold<\/p>\n
Avebury is at the centre of three
\nGreat watersheds and they
\ndrain Way
\nIn three directions into the sea
\nEach day
\nOn the centre of the Michael Line
\nSharing an ancient pedigree
\nSimon feels that in his heart
\nIt\u2019s where he needs to be<\/p>\n
A man of thought and function
\nThe walks there he can do
\nUp windmill hill Silbury hill
\nThe Ridgeway ancient still
\nThe natural spring and yew tree
\nAt Alton Priors he
\nSoaks up all its prominence
\nAnd cosmology<\/p>\n
And It gets into his gristle
\nAt the magical Fyfield Downs
\nWith its massive sarsens representing
\nIn that energy he drowns
\nHis ardour, and such a scholarly activity
\nFor he
\nCan take himself to
\nStone Henge
\nAnd of course to Avebury <\/p>\n
Boscastle and some amazing walks
\nThe great height to the sea
\nSoaking in the salty air
\nAnd marvelling a key
\nTo greater thought of ancient beings
\nLiving in the raw
\nFollowing in their footsteps
\nIs what he is living for<\/p>\n
A watcher of the old ways
\nErudite, a sage
\nRecently campanology
\nPresents another page
\nIn Simon\u2019s true activity
\nHis energy and mind
\nSuch remarkable perspicacity
\nAnd awareness hard to find<\/p>\n
A vivid imagination
\nHe thinks outside the box
\nLoves the ancient wisdoms
\nFor him knowledge unlocks
\nHis inventive creativity
\nAnd his sympathy and more
\ninterpreting the magic
\nThat so many just ignore<\/p>\n
