The wonderful PLODS of Buxton
\nTheir iniative was great
\nStopping the dog walkers
\nWill seemingly create
\nA wonderful lockdown story
\nFor they decided to
\nPut black dye in the turquoise water
\nTo dissuade dog walkers, who
\nCome up there to photograph
\nAnd because it\u2019s not blue any more
\nIt doesn\u2019t look so beautiful
\nAs it did before<\/p>\n
So nobody wants to go there
\nThey would rather stay at home
\nLet the dog shit in the garden
\nAnd take photos of the gnome
\nWell that does sound a good idea
\nAnd Plods are bound to say
\nWe followed the instructions
\nAnd now it\u2019s dirty grey<\/p>\n
And is so far from scenic
\nThe walkers and the rest
\nAre following GOVERNMENT edicts
\nSo for everyone it\u2019s best.
\nWho cares about the environment
\nwhether the fish will die
\nOr Whether it\u2019s alkalinity
\nIs exceptionally high<\/p>\n
Higher than swimming
\nin bleach some say
\nSo because some twit might try
\nAnd swim in a lake that\u2019s dangerous
\nThey piled in loads of dye.
\nAnd now the wonderful blue lake
\nIs a dirty grey
\nAnd it\u2019s all down to the men in blue
\nPast masters of dismay<\/p>\n
As to the gnomes It\u2019s brought some joy
\nThey are noticed once again
\nNot hidden their paint flaking off
\nFeeling the age old strain
\nNow they are out there smiling
\nUp and down the street
\nOn twitter and on snapchat
\nYes even the elite
\nWant their gnomes in pride of place
\nSo the lockdown has meant we
\nAre Not now in a dusty shed
