\nwhen trees become just silhouettes
\nand the nocturnal calls
\nare evident above
\nthe peace and quiet
\nthat of’t one hears
\ntis then I do embrace
\nthe night
\nwith all its abject fears<\/p>\n

I reach you
\nin the silence
\nwhere shadows fear to tread
\nwhere creature’s eyes
\nshine avidly
\nto where my eyes
\nare led
\nits curious that feeling
\nof closeness that we share
\nfor when our hands
\nare locked together
\nwe could be anywhere<\/p>\n

I come to you
\nwhen all the world
\nis sleeping
\nI feel your pulse
\nyour heart beat
\nand each breath
\nthat’s when the badger
\nleaves his sett
\nand wanders
\nthat’s when the fox
\nis frightened half to death
\nnot by the two of us
\nsat in our thicket
\nnor by the thought of man
