Today I went for a short drive
\nStartled then was I
\nTo that state of expectation
\nTo that flash of gold

And a dose of contemplation
\na foretaste
\nSo to be
\nThree more snowfalls before
\nThe Winter ends
\nAn old wives tale
\npossibly<\/p>\n
It\u2019s genus is the olive
\nGreat for the lungs it be
\nTo anticipate much better times
\nAhead so seemingly
\nThis Needs to be the case
\nThe world in lockdown
\nAt this time
\nThe forsythia wants none of it
\nFor its on
\nit\u2019s great Spring climb<\/p>\n
It grabs at our emotions
\nIts gentle floral crown
\nThere before it finds its leaves
\nPure sunshine raining down
\nit\u2019s flowers produce milk sugar
\nOr lactose so they say
\nAnd it makes a delightful syrup
\nFor us all on pancake day<\/p>\n
It\u2019s element is air
\nFeminine and the sun
\nJust peer into its flourish
\nAnd be warmed
\nLike gold that\u2019s spun
\nBy the magical transfusion
\nAnd the brilliance on the eye
\nAs old as I am
\nits aura Took my breath away
