Our arrogance is coupled
\nWith pure ignorance for we
\nBreed pigs and put them onto concrete decks
\nMany dirty
\nNo straw for nests no water no ways
\nTo remain cool
\nWithout sweat glands they overheat

But of course it\u2019s our
\nambivalence
\nWe gamble with their soul
\nEach dose of overcrowding
\nAnd trying to control
\nAn animal whose intelligence
\nIs rather more than we
\nAre prepared to contemplate
\nAnd many ever see<\/p>\n
The need to give them fresh air
\nand freedom amongst the trees
\nInstead they are stuck in concentration camps
\nNot even breeze
\nReaches them uncomfortably
\nThey exist along the way
\nSuffering and roughing it out
\nIn gestation crates too, they<\/p>\n
Are the flaw in every argument
\nIt\u2019s unwarranted what we do
\nAs piglets, we chop off their tails

The agony is genuine

CAFO style pig farms

Pigs are pretty clever
\nThey Are cleaner than the blokes

They never dump where they are standing
\nNot in a million years
\nOnly when they are managed by ignorance

\nAre evident just everywhere

They are going on their last trip out
\nTo the death camp from the farm
\nThey know, they have those
\nkind of thoughts
\nThey realise the harm
\nThat\u2019s done to them
\nTheir consciousness and awareness it is good
\nThey would prefer some privacy for they are misunderstood
\nAnd they suffer, they get anxious, stressed out and forlorn
\nBut no one gives a monkeys it doesn\u2019t even dawn
\nOn many of the handlers that pigs can think and be
\nHurt by how we talk to them and treat them constantly.<\/p>\n
Teeth a chipped it\u2019s all part of the vagaries of life
\nThey are going to get a kicking for sure
\nAdds to the strife
\nSome of them go bonkers and some of them get sick
\nThey have no expectations but they never miss a trick
\nThey possess imagination and dream as well for they
\nAre not just protoplasm, at the end of the day<\/p>\n
Creativeness and inventiveness
\nQualities they possess
\nBut in the concentration camp
\nAll they feel is stress
\nThe cries of sows in gestation crates
\nand piglets when they are born
\nOften crushed or broken
\nTheir little lives just torn<\/p>\n
away from them completely
\nImagine the mothers wrath.
\nShe\u2019s carried them and loved them.
\ndown the gestation path
\nBoar semen in her orifice
\nThen months on end in here
\nCannot turn around just meditate
\nAnd live for hours in fear<\/p>\n
And then it\u2019s time for exit
\nTo the slaughterhouse by truck
\nThat when they want to run away
\nThat\u2019s when they know their luck
\nIs up and soon the screeching.the horror and the pain
\nIs coming as they stand in line
\nAnd await the final train

Some make it past that area
