Abused beyond imagination
\nNeglected all your days
\nA beautiful and gentle soul
\nWith soft familial ways
\nCreating a dilemma
\nA wire cage that will harm
\nA tiny space so cramped
\nand vile
\nInsufficient
\nTo reconcile
\nNeed and comfort an
\nAppropriate place
\nThat allowed a soul
\nAn adequate space
\nGood food clean water
\nAnd a duty of care
\nInstead discord and upset
\nThere<\/p>\n
Overcrowding and neglect
\nCruelty one must expect
\nPurgatory day on day
\nDisharmony and so much dismay
\nMonotony, a prison cell
\nSo confined it felt like hell
\nNot thought out
\nAnd left to be
\nFrightened really constantly
\nArtificiality industrIal depravity
\nAn inferior and defective time
\nWanting lacking, and the grime
\nAnd odour, it was anarchy
\nBedlam And just purgatory<\/p>\n
Friends were sickly
\nSome were dying
\nPulling out feathers
\nNo denying
\nThe state of affairs
\nWas mentally
\nDepressing anyone could see<\/p>\n
Littering we were never clean
\nRumpus and ruction there had been
\nEveryday in such a mess
\nFilthy and dirty I have to stress
\nCannibalism it all was there
\nEvery hour of every day
\nThose living still aware<\/p>\n
Exudation And suppuration
\nEvacuation and elimination
\nBlood and excreta
\nSlobber and snot
\nNo where to go
\nSo we get the lot<\/p>\n
Staining our bodies
\nMaking us feel
\nSuicidal
\nAnd for real
\nDeprived of life
\nMartyrs all
\nOur signed death warrant
\nOn our wall<\/p>\n
Insensitivity everywhere
\nThe human beings
\nDo not care
\nThey did not feel
\nHow could they, we
\nJust existed in a purgatory
\nBut of their making
\nFemales we
\nSuffered so much adversity
\nCold and callous inured they
\nIgnored it all
\nAnd every day<\/p>\n
We got dirtier and the smell
\nPiss and poo our cage was HELL
\nBruised and pecked to kingdom come
\nScraped and shaved we all were numb
\nTormented so
\nCrick and cramp
\nReally sore in all that damp
\nGripe and throb and grate and gnaw
\nWe were victims of their war<\/p>\n
Fetid and foul smelling
\nThe ammonia so strong
\nWe were all but choking
\nof course all that is wrong
\nBut a chicken meant for eating
\nNeeds some good wholesome air
\nAnd food and of course water
\nBut mostly it wasn\u2019t there<\/p>\n
We were going to be eaten
\nOur flesh needed to be
\nWholesome at the end of it
\nInstead we were straggly
\nMany of us limping
\nOur poor legs just too weak
\nTo hold our heavy bodies up
\nNot some thing we would seek<\/p>\n
No sunlight and no fresh air
\nPoorly lit all day
\nUnilluminated, half dark
\nYou could say
\nYou needed not to think at all
\nAnd for one who has ideas
\nWhat you get is anxiety
\nAnd loads and loads of tears<\/p>\n
The forgetfulness is criminal
\nThe carelessness is too
\nThey manhandle us and do not care
\nWhat injuries they do
\nAll of them have unseeing eyes
\nAnd hearts clearly of wood
\nTotally oblivious
\nTo treating as as good<\/p>\n
We have hearts and minds
\nWe have feeling
\nWe were never experiments
\n42 days of life on earth
\nIt really makes no sense
\nTo be cruel to us
\nWhat monster would have the nerve to be
\nUnkind and discriminatory
\nEvery time they see<\/p>\n
The evidence is everywhere
\nThe stench you wouldn\u2019t believe
\nAnd we are going to be eaten
\nBy your children to achieve
\nSuch food the very least you would do
\nIs give a modicum of care
\nInstead of creating HELL on earth
\nAnd being unaware<\/p>\n
And now halal the Muslim way
\nThroats slit just like that
\nNo stunning we have certainty
\nWe now know where we are at
\nNeglected and tortured all our days
\nand murdered in cold blood
\nNo respect for life at all
\nWe just create a flood<\/p>\n
Of crimson plucked and ready
\nTo be eaten we presume
\n40 days of total living hell
\nJust doom and gloom<\/p>\n
And then it\u2019s loads of ketchup
\nSugar and colouring we
\nRealise what our fate is
\nAnd yours too actually<\/p>\n
The problem is when we are sat on the supermarket dish
\nOr chopped up in a some pie nobody realises how we got there
