\nInto the wind to sail
\nThe female it extends to form
\nThe cone like holder and
\nIt will remain stuck fast
\nUpon the tree we understand<\/p>\n
It likes its roots in water
\nAt tHe ery worse it needs
\nA dampness to be present
\nWhen this tree then succeeds
\nAlong the banks of rivers
\nDamp floored lowlands too
\nSometimes grown on hillsides where springs
\nAnd mountIn dew
\nOr best within the fenland
\nWhere other trees may fear
\nElder likes the flood plains
