Consumption of wild animals
\nDoes appear to be
\nThe order of the day
\nIn Certain quarters
\nWhere we see
\nHigh powered very important people
\nFronting corporations
\nAt annual dinners
\nBeing served
\nIn what\u2019s called celebrations<\/p>\n
Of taking the pressure off of
\nanimals threatened by
\nInvasive species And we heard
\nJEFF BEZOS out of Amazon
\nSeemingly was high
\nOn Iguana and a Tarantula
\nand Cockroaches as well
\nSeemingly a tasty dish
\nWhich the Explorers Club
\nDid sell<\/p>\n
For me it\u2019s still poor thinking
\nMisinterpreting the way
\nSwitching to the reptiles
\nWhat really does that say
\nIt shocks no doubt the Daily Mail
\nAnd others of the press
\nBut as for eating animals
\nFor me still it does stress<\/p>\n
Animals become victims
\nNot the furry kind
\nNot the standard cow or sheep
\nSomething to blow the mind
\nWhat to me is unenlightenment
\nAnd a backwardness to boot
\nEach animal that is eaten
\nIs a life and thus the root
\nOf any such predicament
\nWould be surely better by
\nSelecting plant based food stuffs
\nWhere no living soul need die<\/p>\n
Shock value it appears to me
\nA backwardness of thought
\nIt certainly feels uncivilised
\nand uninformed and caught
\nUp in exploration rather than
\nTrying to
\nBe sagelike in a statesmanly way
\nMore fitting so to do<\/p>\n
And so we see JEFF BEZOS
\nWith an iguana on his plate
\nDigging into its innards
\nCreating a new trait
\nThe drama and production
\nA sensational revue
\nIn pursuit of shock and awe
\nAnd what the rich now do<\/p>\n
Add to the equation
\nThe biosphere out there
\nReally make a difference
\nA pilgrimage to where
\nDaring and progressive
\nExcited by it all
\nThe unforeseen
\nThe startling
\nPerhaps now seen as cool<\/p>\n
But for me
\nIt\u2019s an indulgence
\nIt\u2019s capriciousness and I
\nFeel the inconsistency
\nThat still they have to die
\nWhether reptile or spider
\nIt\u2019s a death a finality
\nTo a creature Born to have a life
\nWith no necessity<\/p>\n
To die so we can apparently
\nProgress in the way we eat
\nAll life for me is sacred
\nAnd the quest for exotic meat
\nIs causing terrible problems
\nZoonotic viruses that
\nMay end the lives of many
