Our habitat is shrinking fast
\nThe integrity is gone
\nDisharmony is all around
\nAnd it\u2019s violence now we don
\nThat ugly cloak of darkness
\nTo venture out now we
\nFeel the outstretched arms
\nof hunters
\nTo a perilous degree<\/p>\n
A new stream of consciousness
\nIs needed by us all
\nIt is intellectual suicide
\nTo believe just every call
\nWe hear, our curiosity
\nCan get us shot or trapped
\nWe have to pay attention
\nOur watchfulness is wrapped
\nUp in need and conflict
\nThe pressure every day
\nFor being more adaptable
\nWhatever people say
\nNot a snowballs chance in hell
\nOf betting what we need
\nWith hunters on the rampage
\nToo many of us bleed<\/p>\n
We have to change direction
\nBecome more urban in the way
\nWe hunt and work our food supplies
\nIt\u2019s not like everyday
\nYou catch just what you fancy
\nSometimes we have to be
\nIn the urban jungle
\nKilling pet cats singly
\nOr rooting in the dustbins
\nFor garbage dare I say
\nWe were not created
\nTo feed out in this way<\/p>\n
We are more like the jackal
\nA 20 kilo dog
\nNinety percent cent of what we eat
\nHas to be meat
\nWe hog
\nThe skyline in the hope
\nThat vast percentages we achieve
\nBut often we are eating take Away wrappers

Some would say that\u2019s ludicrous

\nThere is a deal of mendacity about

\nTo appreciate our worth

\nThe bigotry and the cussedness

The wicked sinful trappers
\nThey are everywhere
\nA true plague on humanity
\nDealers in despair
\nCatchers and pursuers
\nHunters and the rough
\nTrackers yes and stalkers
\nShadowy and tough<\/p>\n
We suffer their obnoxiousness
\nTheir hurtfulness and all
\nTainted rank and mangy
\nLamentably they crawl
\nOur Achilles heels are aching
\nAll, our breathren sighing so
\nWe\u2019ve become the easy target
\nFor the riflemen we know<\/p>\n
They use our fur for collars
\nFor cuffs for market stalls
\nthese trappers they are bastards
\nThey break all of the rules
\nEveryday we dice with death
\nAnd engage in forlorn hope
\nLooking danger in the face
\nWe know we hardly cope<\/p>\n
Teetering on the edge we are
\nCrying in our soul
\nBecause of your lewd hunting types
\nWho are out of control
\nThey torture and abuse us
\nIf trapped it\u2019s best we die
\nBefore they come to collect us

They torture us despicably
\nHumans are never kind
