The frustration and sadness
\nOf just being poor
\nNot having the funds
\nIt\u2019s when you feel raw
\nWhen emotions are set fine
\nTo question us when
\nOur pet cat is sickly
\nReally that\u2019s then
\nA trip to the vet
\nCan create quite a pain
\nA very big bill
\nThat just seems insane
\nFor a quick inspection
\nA tonic or two
\nAnd It may cost Your weekly food bill
\nWhich is true.<\/p>\n
Looking after an animal
\nResponsibility
\nWhat you take on
\nAnd reliably
\nWhat you can afford
\nAt the end of the day
\nCan you get a loan
\nHave you moneys to pay<\/p>\n
There are PET insurance schemes
\nAnd seems to me
\nThey are worth contemplating
\nBetter to be
\nPaying a little each month
\nWho when they
\nAre sick or their injured
\nThe Insurance will pay<\/p>\n
Loving an animal
\nMeans that we must
\nBe responsive to them
\nNot overly fussed
\nBut aware and in tune
\nWith how they are kept
\nWhat they eat where they go
\nAnd just how adept<\/p>\n
We are to their needs
\nAnd what can we afford
\nWhich can present problems
\nAnd lack of accord
\nVets do charge heavily
\nSometimes and they
\nExpect to have cash paid
\nat the end of the day
\nCan cause embarrassment
\nThings change they do
\nLife changes constantly
\nAll this is true<\/p>\n
So self prescribing
\nBuying on line
\nor trying out human drugs
\nOfcourse isn\u2019t fine
\nBut it happens and it\u2019s really
\nJust ignorance here
\nCoupled with arrogance
\nAnd with the fear<\/p>\n
That there isn\u2019t the money
\nSo what can we do
\nIt must be a quandry
\nWhen people take that view<\/p>\n
To self prescribe
\nShops sell treatments it\u2019s true
\nOver the counter claims
\nIt\u2019s what some do
\nVet bills are high
\nAnd affording them can
\nBe just over bearing
\nSo what is the plan<\/p>\n
Charities set up
\nTo help out maybe
\nIf not it\u2019s frustration
\nAs people can\u2019t see
\nA way out they can\u2019t afford vets bills
\nAnd they
\nHave to as carers try out their way<\/p>\n
In these cases people must
\nUnderstand
\nIgnorance and arrogance
\nGo hand in hand
\nNo ones a miracle worker it\u2019s true
\nand animals sometimes die yes they do
\nAnd it can cost hundreds of pounds at the vet
\nAnd the animal dies
\nAnd leaves us in debt<\/p>\n
So what do we do
\nWe have to be fair
\nIf we a don\u2019t have the money
\nThen be aware
\nWe cannot have pets
\nThat\u2019s how it must be
\nWhich is better by far
