They have been around
\nFor 15 million years
\nLong long before
\nAustralians and so
\nShould be respected

Their place alas
\nOur arrogance
\nAnd ignorance outweighs
\nTheir ability
\nTo live where creation put them
\nTheir malaise<\/p>\n
Is the human population
\nWho gives them so much stress
\nImporting cane toads
\nParamount
\nQuolls have no
\nredress
\nAgainst them
\nTheir toxic nature
\nThere was no expression for
\nTheir survival sadly
\nWhich man just does ignore.<\/p>\n
And the human being truthfully
\nCreates a lot of pain
\nFor all the Indigenous animals
\nWho truthfully should gain
\nMuch for the environment
\nDesigned for them in fact
\nBut over run by invasive souls
\nWhich humans do attract<\/p>\n
Cats and foxes
\nTend to look keenly upon the quoll
\nAs something of variety
\nFood that gives them soul
\nPoison bAiting the 1080
\nToxic as can be
\nNot only kills the rats and mice
\nBut the quolls too tragically<\/p>\n
Then Urban development
\nReally takes it\u2019s toll
\nAnd large herbivores in other words
\nMake the poor old quoll
\nSuffer as it\u2019s cover is flattened
\nSo to say
\nCreates more risks when feeding
\nWhich is not the natural way.<\/p>\n
quolls are in a precious place
\nAnd Nature needs to see
\nThat only the strong ones do survive
\nAnd now what is key
\nIs mothers having up to 18 babies
\nIn each brood
\nBut with only 6 teat feeders
\nThe strongest will allude
\nThe stresses and the weaknesses
\nAnd will have to make it through Which is why.

\nis having problems

\nWhich sadly
\nIs seldom seen on show
\nIt is facing so many problems
