A sanctuary in Israel
\nCatering for souls
\nBeaten up and left for dead
\nWho do take on their roles
\nAs work horses a carrying
\nAnd shifting night and day
\nOften owned by human beings
\nWhose dullness on display
\nIs evident
\nSuch insensitivity
\nTruly the unfeeling
\nAnd inhumanity<\/p>\n
Donkeys can be joyful
\nThey are hardworking and do
\nBasically just quietly gO about their lives
\nTheir view
\nTo be responsive actually
\nUnruffled in their way
\nAnd they often get ill treated
\nBy the rogues along the way<\/p>\n
\u201cPrincess\u201d she\u2019s one joyful soul
\nWith a little foal
\nShe is in the sanctuary
\nAnd we do need to console
\nHer and her little offspring
\nWhat she needs is care
\nWhat she lacked was love of course
\nIt just was never there<\/p>\n
Donkeys they are sensitive
\nAre emotional and aware
\nThey love feeling some tenderness
\nBut in reality it\u2019s rare
\nBecause they are seen as working souls
\nThey are abused it\u2019s true
\nAnd the meanness of the human
\nReally it does work through<\/p>\n
The sanctuary they are in
\nNear KFAR YONA I hear
\nIn the Sharon District
\nEast of Netanya where it\u2019s clear
\nWithout funds they are closing
\nAnd the donkeys probably
\nWill end up back in somewhere
\nCloser to their purgatory<\/p>\n
In Israel there is money.surely people there
\nWill see the need for help and cash
\nTo help them
\nAnd to share
\nSome offers and some time to love
\nSo these donkeys can receive
\nSome love and joy and caring
\nThat is I believe
\nThe least that anyone can do
\nFor the hard pressed feeling pain
\nAnd hence the poem Informing
\nAnd hoping it\u2019s not in vain<\/p>\n
Being caring to the downtrodden
\nReally Is a way
\nOf boosting people\u2019s karma
\nHelping to allay
\nThe cruelty and misery
\nThat animals do feel
\nIts a sanctuary that does
\nNeed help that much I know is real<\/p>\n
So anything that can be done
\nLet\u2019s hope Princess will see
\nA life line and a suitable place
