Street dogs
\nJust imagine
\nTheir life out in the sun
\nA mother and her litter
\nWhen the day is done
\nIn amongst the corrugated iron
\nAnd cans of tar
\nLeaking out where babies
\nLie
\nWhere little bodies are<\/p>\n
Three of them were caught up
\nIn the stickiness and trapped
\nOne was dead regrettably
\nHer life had cleared sapped
\nBut three we found
\nAnd the mother and others
\nSo we took
\nThem all back to the hospital
\nSo then we all could look<\/p>\n
\u201cAmber\u201d \u201cJaya\u201d and \u201cLali\u201d
\nWere smothered set in tar
\nThey couldn\u2019t move their bodies
\nSo we set to work
\nWe are
\nLoving always loving
\nOf sou little prot\u00e9g\u00e9s
\nWho come in for some loving
\nAnd of course it always pays<\/p>\n
At animAl aid unlimited
\nWith so many angels here
\nMany hands make light work
\nOf the loving and the cheer
\nUsing vegetable oil and soft fingers
\nWe softened up the tar
\nAnd gradually cleaned the puppies
\nIn our session like a spa
\nMassaging and cleaning, loving all the way
\nThey were surely going to starve to death
\nWhen we found them on that day<\/p>\n
After all the tar was gone
\nWith Shampoo and water they
\nSoon became their fluffy selves
\nBundles of joy at play
\nAll back with their mother
\nWho we spayed and clearly she
\nHad only lost one of her pups
\nBut the others she could see<\/p>\n
Such love and scrupulosity
\nThe honour of it all
\nSeeing them all playing
\nTogether it was cool
\nAmazingly a happy event
\nWhich might otherwise have been
\nReally very tragic
\nAnd terribly obscene.<\/p>\n
