\nAbout five years ago
\nA sheep called \u201cChris\u201d
\nWent amiss
\nAnd in the outback he did go
\nWandering for some six years
\nNeglected tragically
\nBo peep clearly had gone to sleep
\nWhen \u201cChris\u201d just became free
\nTo wander through the outback
\nUnder the bright blue sky
\nThese days we breed sheep
\nTo retain their wool
\nI wonder why
\nSo we can make more money
\nFrom shearing and so we
\nFound this sheep
\nSo clogged up with six years of wool
\nAnd he be<\/p>\n
Really almost unable to walk
\nOr have a poo
\nThe poor soul suffering in the heat
\nWhat can an animal do
\nFortunately a hiker
\nSaw \u201cChris\u201d and he called
\nThe RSPCA out
\nAnd \u201cChris\u201d was overhauled<\/p>\n
They got a famous shearer
\nAnd they sedated
\n\u201cChris\u201d a while
\nIt took 45 minutes
\nThe fleece sliced off in style
\nIn total it weighed 89 pounds
\nAnd it is on show
\nAt the National Museum
\nIn Canberra we know<\/p>\n
\u201cChris\u201d had he not got away
\nWould have been eaten that\u2019s for sure
\nBut he was sent to a sanctuary
\nIn New South Wales a store
\nHouse for others animal friends
\nThe little oat sanctuary
\nWhere he will spend his life
