Whether we end up in a temple
\nSanctuary or zoo
\nMakes a great deal of difference
\nOr in a sea park too
\nReally human beings
\nAre kindly but they can
\nBe cruel and even beastly
\nDependent on their plan
\nA temple tends to abuse us
\nRegalia wise we are
\nPainted dripped in ornamentation
\nOur bodies too they scar
\nThe bull hook often used on us
\nOur feet too get worn down
\nGiving rides to tourists
\nOn the roads into town<\/p>\n
Ansanctuary is heavenly
\nGenerally we see
\nA place where we can share
\nEach interlude quite peacefully
\nApparently our haven
\nWhere it\u2019s humbling to be
\nWrapped up in the kindness
\nOf a true community
\nA zoo mostly there is indifference
\nFor sadly there they
\nAre into making money
\nThey lack some zeal I have to say
\nNo appetite for true love
\nThis is a business scene
\nProfit and loss
\nDon\u2019t care a toss
\nAnd really they are mean
\nWith food and with enclosures
\nWith habitat and more
\nIt\u2019s the same with game parks
\nWith cars and trucks galore
\nPollution from exhausts
\nPlay havoc with our health
\nBeing fed on human trash
\nCompromising wealth
\nThe unwariness of visitors
\nTheir presumption that we be
\nUnlikely to attack them
\nThat audacity
\nOften leads to mishaps
\nCar windows open they
\nWonder why we are drawn to them
\nTo their aura so to say<\/p>\n
We rarely feel affection
\nFrom the keepers let me say
\nOften we are having to take
\nPills and potions they
\nUnsettle us it\u2019s no exaggeration
\nEvery day
\nThey give us so called tonics
\nAnd pills along the way
\nLiving wild was wonderful
\nCaptives understand
\nPrisoners despondency
\nResigned to a life bland
\nAnd hopeless and it\u2019s cheerless
\nIn a zoo that needs to make
\nMoney balancing its books
\nReally it\u2019s a fake<\/p>\n
Rides and photo sessions
\nPetting sometimes too
\nTaking away our babies
\nIt\u2019s what some zoo\u2019s do
\nIt\u2019s tastelessness and vulgarity
\nBut they don\u2019t see that, they
\nAre into making money
\nAnd that\u2019s done any way<\/p>\n
Wildness has its beauty
\nAs for captivity
\nIt\u2019s colourless and staleness
\nBanal and dreary
\nLife drags by each day
\nIt\u2019s uniformity
\nHumdrum and surburban
\nWe are ancient history
\nThe elation of discovery
\nThe exultation we
\nFeel when we are free to go
\nFree in fact to see
\nOur path ahead to water
\nTo mud to forest where
\nGrowing leaves are present
\nAs is the fresh warm air<\/p>\n
Leave us where creation puts us
\nTry to not encroach upon
\nWhere we live and make our homes
\nFences roads and walls
\nBe gone
\nLarge open spaces jungle
\nOur needs are met to be
\nWhere creation placed us
