When your old
\nNobody loves you
\nDisablement gets you down
\nYou realise you are a nuisance
\nAnd no one in the town
\nWants to be your servant
\nAnd so often you find
\nLoneliness is your friend all day
\nIt\u2019s all part of the grind<\/p>\n
\u201cWally\u201d was a Shar Pei
\nA handsome kind of soul
\nA characterful face
\nWondrous jowels
\nWalked at a slow pace<\/p>\n
Clearly when we found him
\nHe was outside of a yard
\nA unit found him and fed him
\nAnd called us
\nIt was hard<\/p>\n
An old soul clearly needing
\nHope and charity
\nLove and care and someone there
\nQuite a liability
\nBut clearly he all knowing
\nShowing quietly he
\nLoved a piece of burger we gave him
\nWe could see<\/p>\n
He was grateful
\nSo we took him
\nTo the vet and he was fine
\nPanting fluffing his old lungs
\nShowing us a sign
\nJust sad nobody loved him
\nHis sun just wouldn\u2019t shine<\/p>\n
It happens when you are old and grey
\nAnd you walk a bit too slow
\nThen it\u2019s hard to find good souls
\nWho really want to know
\nHe had been micro chipped
\nAnd when we asked the owner he
\nSaid I don\u2019t want to know him
\nI never want to see<\/p>\n
His face, and we could feel that
\nIn Wally,\u2019s face he knew
\nHe just had to slink off somewhere
\nSee if he could do
\nAnother life another time
\nSomehow he would be
\nHelped and that\u2019s why we were called
\nIn a brand new home he be<\/p>\n
As happy as a sand boy
\nWith another dog he stays
\nHopefully he will be loved
\nFor the rest of his days<\/p>\n
