Abandoned and
\nDivested of everything
\nA complete discontinuance
\nThat left you just to ring
\nThe changes that were evident
\nThe evils that would bring
\nThe Papillomas torture
\nIn its aggressive form
\nSkin and bones the over tones
\nWithin the coming storm
\nWhat was a broad infirmity
\nToxaemia and more
\nA leprous papilloma
\nOf the lower jaw
\nMouth and tongue and throat and neck
\nImagine the ghastly pain
\nOf breathing and of eating
\nAnd of sobbing
\nEach refrain<\/p>\n
The puncturing contusions
\nBeing the worse for wear
\nLiving in the streets
\nDisfigured and aware
\nOf everything that was happening
\nOf all the eyes that stared
\nOf one\u2019s hair entirely matted
\nAnd more so the eyes that glared
\nBedraggled from the experience
\nA lost soul in a place
\nexhausted by the effort
\nDying at a pace
\nApparently no remedy
\nJust disablement and more
\nThe fear factor enormous
\nWhen everything is raw<\/p>\n
Finding angels in the midst
\nOf all of this was seemingly
\nImpossible to contemplate
\nBut STRAW PAWS came to be
\nAn angel with a soft quiet voice
\nwhispered in my ear
\nWith tones so wholly comforting
\nI seemed to lose the fear
\nA princess in so many ways
\nHer eyes perceiving me
\nBroken my contusions
\nDetestable they be
\nBut she was wholly confident
\nTouched me with her voice
\nCame over and patted me
\nAnd Did this out of choice<\/p>\n
And she called me \u201cBOOBA\u201d
\nThat was to be my name
\nShe had been sent to help me
\nthat was her claim to fame
\nShe gave me food but it was just an offering
\nFor I
\nwas in too much pain to eat it
\nAnd that folks was no lie
\nFearful I was fearful
\nStreet people ran Away
\nThrew bricks At me and saw me off
\nAnd so to find today
\nAn angel being kind to me
\nDevoted to her task
\nbrushing me and caring
\nWhat more could I ask<\/p>\n
She took me to a vet
\nA biopsy they performed
\nConfirming the worse scenario
\nThe papilloma stormed
\nMy whole creative forces
\nA worsening belief
\nNo cure had been forthcoming
\nReally just more grief
\nApparently they tested
\nThe tumour and they tried
\nTo come up with a vaccine
\nThey were on my side
\nSome complicated chemical
\nI would take for seven days
\nTo fight the vile disfigurement
\nAnd hopefully then raise<\/p>\n
My expectancy of being cured
\nShe made me feel more whole
\nShe talked to me she cared for me
\nShe had taken on the role
\nOf feeding me with confidence
\nThat someone really Cared
\nAnd wasn\u2019t showing signs of fear
\nBy my look, when others stared
\nSwore grimaced and clearly
\nHated what they saw
\nShe brushed my matted hair
\nAnd realised how sore
\nI was but she was gentle
\nShe was loving she was true
\nShe was indeed an angel
\nDoing what they do<\/p>\n
No wings that I did notice
\nBut a heart Clearly that beat
\nEyes they could commiserate
\nWhen my pain did unseat
\nMy ability to hold myself
\nIn check and carry on
\nShe was just there for me
\nShe hadn\u2019t upped and gone
\nI have had now seven injections
\nAnd she keeps me in her yard
\nIt\u2019s safe here there are other dogs around
\nActing as guard
\nI am losing bits of flesh though
\nAs the tumour drops Away
\nWhy did it have to happen to me
\nWhy do I pay<\/p>\n
A benign epithelial tumour
\nAnd in my lower jaw
\nThe angel she cleaned me every day
\nAnd where I laid yes more
\nAnd more she cleaned by bedding
\nEvery single day
\nGiving me the love I had never had before
\nTo say
\nAlone she has made my life worth living
\nFor its really true
\nwhat these ladies from Straw Paws
\nWhat they really do
\nFor dogs like me just written off
\nTo the vagaries of life
\nTo the evils of humanity
\nAnd to experience the strife<\/p>\n
They bring us back and give us love
\nAnd care and share so much
\nWhatever happens to me from here on in
\nShe is in touch<\/p>\n
