A homeless dog
\nKept following different ladies on the street
\nAffirming some acceptance
\nOr hopeful of a treat
\nDisguising one\u2019s affection
\nIs no a easy thing to do
\nBeing a homeless animal
\nand being voiceless too
\nA white dog
\nClearly hungry
\nBut willing we could see
\nWe approached her with some biscuits
\nAnd she clearly wanted to be
\ncared for
\nEverybody does
\nout there on the street
\nTrying to be compliant
\nAnd showing that she would eat<\/p>\n
The lady had a biz smile
\nAnd soft hands on my face
\nShe had a leash of red
\nShe didn\u2019t need to chase
\nI was prepared to just sit there
\nAnd see what she would do
\nShe carefully put the leash on me
\nBecause I took the view
\nThat she was wanting to care for me
\nAnd out here on the street
\nCars whizzing by
\nAnd people all we see is feet
\nGoing this way going that
\nWe follow for a while
\nBut very few will stop and talk
\nThis one was off the dial<\/p>\n
She was just an angel
\nCome to be a friend
\nTook me in her car she did
\nTo the vet did send
\nIt\u2019s mandatory to microchip
\nIn Romania she
\nHad not been chipped
\nBut her blood was good
\nAnd so apparently<\/p>\n
Lice and fleas were a problem
\nSo we treated her
\nAnd we
\nShampooed her with some medication
\nCleaned her thoroughly
\nShe wasn\u2019t use to walking on a leash
\nWe have to say
\nBut we had her spayed
\nAnd checked out
\nAll on the same day<\/p>\n
She is a joyful little dog
\nTail wagging all the time.
\nEach day just more euphoric
\nShe just loved to climb
\nA really passive super hound
\nAs kindly as can be
\nWaiting for adoption
\nAnd a forever home to see<\/p>\n
