A very busy street in town
\nIn a disabled parking bay
\nA very hesitant rather mangy
\nDog came by to pay
\nHer dubious respect to us
\nAnd to her we did say
\nShe had been in the neighbourhood
\nFor months Yes every day
\nBut her mangy look had frightened
\nSome
\nand they chased her away
\nIn dread
\nOf what might be contagious
\nSome people do not know
\nHow mange affects the skin
\nAnd really just how low
\nIt makes one feel
\nIt\u2019s all about neglect
\nAnd being without care
\nWith No routine to speak of
\nAnd people unaware<\/p>\n
Parasitic mites
\nD\u00e9mod\u00e9tic do take hold
\nCausing lesions
\nAnd infections
\nAnd hair loss
\nAll this rolled
\nInto what is street life
\nConstant stress and strain
\nPeople shouting at you
\nAnd sitting in the rain
\nAll of this uncertainty
\nCauses problems and
\nThis poor dog was suffering
\nAnd didn\u2019t look too grand<\/p>\n
But deep down had a heart and soul
\nAnd wanted Love to be
\nSurrounding her in bones and baskets
\nFor an eternity
\nAnd, so when the angels
\nCame along honestly she felt
\nThey were giving her treats to eat
\nPerhaps her cards were dealt
\nAnd soon she was inside a car
\nAnd going to the vet
\nCurious and tentative
\nSHe just wanted to let
\nThem help her quite a pungent smell
\nOf dirt and mange and woe
\nSo to get some soapy water
\nOn her really it did show
\nUp just how infected
\nSHe was and just how sore
\nWe had to shave the hair away
\nMore and more and more
\nAnd use the medication to rub into her skin
\nAnd kill the mites and cure the bites
\nAnd actually start to win.<\/p>\n
We did this for many days
\nTill the mange and mites Were gone
\nShe loved to rest up in her basket
\nOr would sit upon
\nany seat around the place
\nShe had freedom to choose
\nNobody shouted at her
\nLife now was good news
\n\u201cHeidi\u201d had recovered well
\nAn unshakable regard
\nWith a sharpness and an acumen
\nLife now wasn\u2019t hard
\nShe felt part of a family
\nWitH expectations she
\nWas staying with another dog
\nAnd a family
\n\u201cBruno\u201d was her playmate
\nAn older dog but he
\nWas keen to play
\nAnd seemed to really get on with Heidi<\/p>\n
Day 60 she was spayed
\nHad all her check ups and she now
\nIs really fit and hopeful
\nAnd forever home and how
\nShe will fit in dear \u201cHeidi\u201d<\/p>\n
She so Wants a family
\nIf anyone
\nknows someone who wants a dog
\nFor adoption now she be<\/p>\n
