The tiniest of puppies
\njust lying by a box
\nWhimpering and crying
\nJust so many shocks
\nGoing through her little body
\nThe unjustifiability
\nThe world at large ignoring
\nNobody did see
\nGoing about their own business
\nA mortal in distress
\nWas it just a piece of rag
\nOr something just worth less<\/p>\n
They called the baby \u201cLilly\u201d
\nA beautiful little soul
\nHer legs were sore and damaged
\nShe had lost any control
\nClose to leaving her body
\nDehydrated and alone
\nHer Bowels were next to useless
\nAnd from time to time she would groan
\na cry for someone somewhere
\nTo hear her tiny voice
\nWe found her and we gave her
\nYes gave her the choice
\nIV fluids catheter
\nAll night, it was touch and go
\nWhether she had given up
\nOr had really got so low
\nBut a little bit of love and care
\nIt just goes a long way
\nAnd she actually responded
\nOn what was our lucky day<\/p>\n
Lots of love and kisses
\nReal deep profound care
\nOur ladies in their sari\u2019s
\nWhat abundance we have we share
\nRajasthan has angels
\nAnd need is there as we
\nSuffer little children
\nWho come to us to see<\/p>\n
She rallied and recovered
\nShe wanted life she did
\nHer floppy ears her inner tears
\nShe made that honest bid
\nTo stay with us
\nTo feel our love
\nAnd we have much to give
\nWe know what it\u2019s like
\nTo be so alone
\nBut so wanting to live<\/p>\n
And now with her tail wagging
\nShe runs about the place
\nClearly so much stronger
\nBut with a deal of grace
\nEverybody loves her
\nEverybody cares
\nAnd everybody knows in fact
