I’m an Orangutan
\nI’m a wild boy
\nan arboreal ape
\nwith a heart full of joy
\nI swing about most days
\nI eat on the hoof
\nwith a nest in the canopy
\nand leaves for my roof
\nthat was my thing
\nthe wild life for me
\nand my brothers and sisters
\nour world was the tree
\nnot a stuffy wire box
\nwith a cage
\nat the front
\nhonestly humans
\nwhat kind of stunt
\nare you pulling
\nto put me in such
\na foul frame
\nleft in a draught
\nwith a sick human name<\/p>\n

fed on stale fruit
\nand left here to be
\nfrustrated, sedated
\nnauseated that’s me
\nonce brachiation
\nwas how I got by
\nfrom branch to branch
\noh! boy I did fly
\nnow all cramped up
\nin a dull aching state
\nI sit here for hours
\nits a place that I hate
\na cage is no place
\nfor a wild one to view
\nthe trees, its the trees
\nand the canopy too<\/p>\n

what you have done with
\nyour palm oil, is kill
\ncreatures like me
\nwe have now had our fill
\nof your ignorance
\nand, how you treat wild
\nboys like me
\nyou are killing us slowly
\nits purgatory
\nand what do you get in return
\ngo on say
\nlots of fat dollars
\nyea you can pay
\nyourselves, and like kings live
\nin mansions I know
\nbut the fact that your selling
\nwhat has had to grow
\nand its wiping the forest
\noff of the land
\nthe biodiversity
\nplease understand
\ncreation knew these things
\ngreat balance was had
\nthousands of creatures
\nand now, well its sad
\ndarkness stagnation
\nand all of us gone
\nthe light doesn’t create
\nnow sadly upon
\nthe land
\nsoil erosion
\nand flooding has come
\nthe death of so many
\nyour rule of thumb
\nis just about money
\npaper that’s all
\nmade out of wood pulp
\nwe hear them fall
\ncrash into the litter
\nthe cries break our hearts
\nbut few of you hear us
\njust a few farts
\nsit in their board rooms
\nwith their Remy Martin
\npale faced millionaires
\nwho stay out of the sun
\nwasting creation
\nensuring the poor
\nremain in the depths
