A country road
\nA windy day
\nThorny hedgerows
\nWe can say
\nWe stopped the car
\nBecause we saw
\nA terrier there
\nBut We were not sure
\nWe peered through the thorns
\nAnd he was there
\nA Black and Tan
\nIn some despair
\nClearly limping badly he
\nCame out to greet us
\nExpectantly<\/p>\n
He was in great pain
\nThat much much we knew
\nAnd so took him
\nTo a place and crew
\nThat would help him
\n\u201cHOWL A DOG RESCUE\u201d
\nTo be examined by someone who
\nCould help \u201cVlad\u201d
\nCould help hopefully
\nSee what was wrong
\nAnd try to be
\nA double fracture
\nApparently
\nAt least a week old
\nPurgatory
\nThe mental anguish
\nOf being there
\nIn all those thorns
\nNo one to care<\/p>\n
His eyes were full of sadness
\nHe
\nHad fretted long and hard
\nTo be
\nIn this place now
\nWe fortunately
\nCould help him recover
\nAnd try to see
\nhe needed metal plates and screws
\nPain meds\u2019 of course
\nAnd love, the blues
\nThough soon he just forgot for he
\nIn three weeks recovered
\nAmazingly<\/p>\n
A joyful soul a wagging tail
\nEars up he just couldn\u2019t fail
\nTo try to please
\nTo try to be
\nPositive for all to see
\nHealing well
\nLooking good
\nLearning to sit
\nLike good dogs should
\nEager to please
\nEager to be
\nIn a new home soon
\n\u201cVLAD\u201d a key
\nCanine friend
\nFor anyone
\nThis lovely soul
\nWhat he had done
\nIn his short life
\nAnd recently
\nWas come back from
\n purgatory<\/p>\n
And run about
