In subterranean cities
\nthe stylophorum are
\nwith coats of soft dark velvet
\nbut they don’t see very far
\ntheir hearing really isn’t
\nall that its cracked up to be
\nbut their front legs
\ncor, they’re massive
\nand they’re like a JCB<\/p>\n
Moles, are not so tasty
\ntheir diet seems to be
\nreally only earthworms
\nso that’s not strange, actually
\nthey tunnel here, and tunnel there
\ncreating hills of green
\ntis said they can move mountains
\na bit like a machine<\/p>\n
in the operation
\nturning soil like mad
\nkeeping it all friable
\nreally isn’t bad
\npoppy seeds lie dormant
\nfor years, I understand
\nthen suddenly wake their sleepy heads
\nand decorate the land
\nits because the soil
\nis moved about
\nwhich encourages the seed
\nto spring to life
\nimagine that
\nso its the Moles, good deed
\nperhaps they do not know it
\nand it seems that most of us
\nreally didn’t have a clue
\nbut now we can discuss
\njust what a truly great lot
\nthe moles are on the earth
\ntheir food is all organic
