\nSaw the start of ROWAN\u2019s reign
\nSorbus Acuparia the Mountain ash refrain
\nAs Winter retreats rapidly
\nAnd the light begins to swell the sky
\nSnowdrops push and prod and poke
\nThe goddess Brigid, shy
\nSmith craft sacred springs and poetry
\nAs a maiden, she
\nThe Ewe\u2019s are starting families are
\nIn milk and delicately<\/p>\n
Buds begin to swell and ripen
\nOn each broadleaf tree
\nWonder for a moment why some trees
\nAre evergreen
\nAnd others are
\nDeciduous or leafless
\nAs the scene
\nIn those dark cold days of Winter
\nFamed for fog and snow
\nThe evolutionary miracle
\nThat probably you know
\nLeaves work hard at storing food
\nIn branches roots and trunk
\nThe buds were quietly made up then
\nAnd rapidly will have sunk
\nDown into the litter
\nAnd As the leaves unfold
\nThe buds then will enrich
\nThe waiting soil
\nwherever they may have rolled <\/p>\n
As if free will is present
\nSpontaneously they rise
\nThe snowdrops like princesses
\nAnd, we can realise
\nThe crocuses the golden tresses
\nAnd the purple spray
\nResplendent in their dancing
\nWith a willingness to play<\/p>\n
Choices there are many
\nThe Varied Bulbs of Spring
\nPredestined to be vital
\nAnd certainly to bring
\nThe quality of colour
\nThe inspiration they
\nTheir mission to
\nRevitalise
\nAnd help us on our way
\nIndicative that Nature
\nNever rests
\nShe\u2019s on the go
\ncreating her resources
\nPutting on a show
\nPussy willow Sticky buds
\nForsythia\u2019s gold spray
\nThe streams of life invigorated
\nThis cross quarter day<\/p>\n
The earth being rekindled
\nSap rises hour on hour
\nPurification feel it
\nAfter thawing comes the plough
\nthe great mother\u2019s Stint and slaving
\nOn Months of smoke and salt
\nBehold fresh milk a plenty
\nWe now can cry a halt
\nTo winter grains and root crops
\nBehold some greenery
\nSome freshness and some lightness
\nAnd some cleansing energy.
\nThe blackthorn it be blooming
\nOmens to the fore
\nLeave offerings At holy springs
\nLeave crosses above the door and windows
\nFor protection
\nEach BRIGIDS cross which be
\nWoven out of rushes
