Tedium and discontent
\nThe monotony each day
\nIt\u2019s soulless and repetitive
\nAnd it\u2019s far too much to pay
\nUs wild ones need the stimulation
\nWe get from forest life
\nAnd stuck inside a laboratory
\nAll we get is strife
\nLayers of it
\nStress and pain
\nThe medical stuff they use
\nWandering about in masks and green coats
\nReally they abuse<\/p>\n
Being weary to distraction
\nAlways stuck inside
\nNothing to get our juices up
\nEverything denied
\nThe food is really terrible
\nThe screeching all the day
\nThe experimentation is awful
\nBut of course this is the way<\/p>\n
Testing always testing
\nChemicals that do
\nCause burns sometimes upon our skin
\nAnd aches inside it\u2019s true
\nIt\u2019s really uninspiring
\nHuman crap all day
\nInjected with real horrors
\nThat make us rock and
\nsway<\/p>\n
For me I use to weep a lot
\nReally floods of tears
\nCertainly in the earlier times
\nWhen nights were full of fears
\nA sinking heart and such despair
\nAt how my life became
\nLow spirited and crestfallen
\nWith only myself to blame<\/p>\n
As great apes you consider
\nThat we don\u2019t think at all
\nBut we are very sensitive
\nAll of us as a rule
\nSuffer and feel so lonely
\nStuck inside all day
\nNever feeling the sun shine
\nOn our backs it is no way<\/p>\n
To treat a wild man warrior
\nWe love to walk about climb up trees
\nJust as we please
\nBipedally we flout
\nWalking about in the cage
\nThere is no where to go
\nNobody to talk with
\nFor hours on end you know<\/p>\n
Joy goes out the window
\nYou have to make the best
\nOf a bad situation
\nIt\u2019s a sort of test
\nCan you maintain
\nYour order
\nOr will you madden some
\nAll of the injections
\nWhere everything feels numb<\/p>\n
And so to project chimps
\nA place that we now are
\nIn its a facility
\nWhere we are like the star
\nPerformers from another age
\nFrom wildness to laboratory
\nAnd now to sanctuary
\nOff the page<\/p>\n
A sort of new won freedom
\nTo do what we want to do
\nGo out stay in climb the trees
\nReally we are true
\nTo ourselves now can do our own thing
\nOr remain alone
\nAll of us here now
\nThe experiments we have known<\/p>\n
Have finished now apparently
\nA holiday where we
\nCan relax a bit a lot of acres
\nOf land that we can see
\nBut being regimented
\nAnd tested every day
\nParts of our bodies as
\nShaved and hurt
\nWe have to find a way<\/p>\n
Of pandering to our inner thoughts
\nWith the food and toys we find
\nGet back on an even keel
\nThey were playing with our mind
\nWe\u2019ve been suffering for thirty years
\nThe vagaries of man
\nAll those rotten chemicals
\nEver since they all began<\/p>\n
And now it is all over
\nSanctuary will be
\nThe place that we can now enjoy
