Hardship and continual suffering
\nTraits of the dogs that are
\nOut there in the streets all day
\nRunning near and far
\nOne such hound was in collision
\nThat damaged her hind legs
\nWhich made her crawl into a drain
\nWhich also really begs
\nThe question
\nwhat becomes of victims
\nSuffering like that
\nAnimals aid unlimited
\nfortunately are at<\/p>\n
The beck and call of people
\nAnd this wee soul was seen
\nAnd we were called to rescue
\nThe little soul looked lean
\nSitting in a gulley
\nOn a dusty street
\nWe placed her in a blanket
\nShe was very sweet
\nBoth here legs were fractured
\nFrom the impact we could see
\nSo we sedated her
\nAnd strapped her legs up
\nAnd gave pain relief
\nTo see
\nIf we could reduce the shock
\nAnd inflammation and so we
\nFed her and we loved her
\nAnd she responded beautifully<\/p>\n
After a month she loved to snuggle
\nUp to those of us
\nShe got a lot of cuddles
\nEveryone made a fuss
\nAfter six weeks caring for her
\nShe began to be
\nMuch more steady on her pins
\nAnd her tail wagged constantly
\n\u201cMeetika\u201d was a joy
\nTo have around the
\nYard for she
\nWas welcoming and happy
