Our feathered friends
\nAre angels of the silent wing
\nThat share their wondrous voices
\nSuch beauty they do bring
\nAnd many of us fail them
\nOur fireworks split the air
\nRockets fired and filings
\nA crescendo that we share
\na voluminous cacophony
\nA shattering display
\nIt isnt an illusion
\nIt\u2019s dupery at play
\nIt\u2019s damaging
\nIt\u2019s frightening
\nIt\u2019s just like open war
\nFeathered souls are sensitive
\nThe vibrations feel so raw
\nThey tear into the senses
\nThey throttle and they burn
\nThe world of sky and trees and rain
\nA matter of concern<\/p>\n
Guy Fawkes night and New Year\u2019s Eve
\nAnd lots of days between
\nExplosives rip the countryside
\nIt is quite obscene
\nThe peacefulness we are born with
\nBroken by desire
\nImported cordite scintillation
\nIgnited into fire
\nMuch of it from China
\nAnd us birds what we see
\nIs just a flash of substance
\nThat burns us violently
\nLeading to despondency
\nAnd death for some for they
\nAre so shocked by the outcome
