Hardness as a rock
\nA piece of concrete or cement
\nShatterproof and fortified
\nHardly heaven sent
\nSomething to be kicked along
\nWithout a vital force
\nMeaningless composure
\nNothing at its source<\/p>\n
Can we describe
\nThose torturers
\nWho apparently
\nCan come upon a hedgehog
\nA critter who can be
\nSpiny
\nRound and rock like
\nBut who has a heart and soul
\nCompared to us
\nHe has substance
\nAnd a will yes to control<\/p>\n
Those of us around him
\nHe has imagination
\nHopes and wishes
\nComing from
\nOf course
\nYes the creation
\nHe has a place
\nHis miracle is life
\nAs is ours
\nHe lives in his tranquility
\nAnd whiles away his hours<\/p>\n
He is lucid and is cognisant
\nHis humility is there
\nHis gait is slow
\nHis height is low
\nBut of course he is aware
\nA creature of the wild he be
\nA warrior in form
\nWho came to be a victim
\nAnd felt the wrathful storm<\/p>\n
Of ignorance and arrogance
\nIn youth around today
\nThey saw this ball of life
\nAnd love and decided
\nIt was way
\nTo small and insignificant
\nTo let it just pass by
\nWhen they could kick it down the street
\nThat feeling made them high<\/p>\n
Human yes born from a mother
\nWho created the life force
\nCarried them gave birth to them
\nShe nourished them from source
\nAnd this is how they repay her
\nAffirming how they feel
\nMurder and torture and horror
\nAnd are happy to reveal<\/p>\n
Such exploits on the media
\nOn their digital space
\nThe killing of a rabbit
\nOr some pigeon chicks
\nTo grace
\nthe social media aspected
\nWith their evil scented vile
\nTorture so demented
\nIt is right off the dial<\/p>\n
Teaching them to help wildlife
\nSuch an introduction
\nTo me is putting other souls
\nAt risk
\nAnd their abduction
\nFor thoughtful dire transgression
\nI believe to be
\nWrong
\nThese two need treatment
\nThat\u2019s how it feels to me<\/p>\n
Mendaciously they ponder
\nSkullduggery appears
\nEconomical with the truth
\nRaising yet more fears
\nIn me of other sufferings
\nOf another creature who
