At the heat of the day
\nIs when some Camels pay
\nFoaming their mouth
\nBloodied by
\nThe anger the ire
\nThe torment the fire
\nFor here in the desert
\nSome die
\nTormented with sticks
\nThe poor camels they
\nAre bashed in the face
\nIntensely some say
\nTerrible scenes
\nAnd screams that go through
\nOne\u2019s head and one\u2019s heart
\nIt\u2019s undoubtedly true<\/p>\n
They walk very far
\nAnd they work very hard
\nShips of the desert
\nContinually scarred
\nBy children and merchants
\nWho beat them with sticks
\nIn many ways sadly
\nThey get knocked for six
\niMans at the top of their voices
\nIt smacks
\nGuttural cries and violent attacks
\nBrimstone and fire it\u2019s a causal display
\nTo see camels and hear them screaming away
\nThe violence distasteful
\nIntense cruelty
\nA market of some contradiction.that be<\/p>\n
Too much to cope with
\nFor those of us who
\nLove animals and seeing camels who do
\nPut in a lot with long distances they
\nSuffer greatly at the hands of sellers
\nWho may
\nhave an unorthodoxy about them
\nIt\u2019s true
\nAnd behaviour that\u2019s frenzied and preposterous too<\/p>\n
It not that far from Cairo a market from where
\nTraders may come from distance to share
\nThe best and the worst of their camel brigade
\nSages and fools and some unaware
\nOf the deranged mentality
\nAnd the lunatic fringe
\nWho in truth do abuse
\nAnd frighteningly whinge
\nAnd the poor camels suffer
\nSome die in the heat
\nBleeding and foaming
\nDread is complete
\nIt is cruel disappointment
\nTo see these great beasts
\nKnocked about wildly
\nAnd eventually feasts
\nMade from their bodies
\nConsumed over fire
\nEvery part of a life
\nFor the camel was dire
\nWorked like a slave
\nIn the dry heat and sun
\nAnd it\u2019s life stolen sometimes
\nWhen it\u2019s seen to be done<\/p>\n
In all parts of the world
\nWe see agony unfolding
\nThe camels they suffer
\nThe merchant boys scolding
\nWhipping their eyes and their testicles too
\nWherever apparently animals do
\nSuffer it\u2019s tougher
\nOut here anyway
\nThe rigours of desert life
\nAnd the decay
\nThat comes with the heat with the dust
\nWith the sand
\nAnd the ugly behaviour
