I’ve been there
\nI’ve seen it
\nthe land where the sun
\nsits high in the sky
\nand care’s for no one
\nthe first people known
\nas the Aborigine
\nlived, and so many died
\nunfortunately
\npicked on, and discriminated
\nagainst, and lost
\nin a world
\nof white power
\nwhich has cost<\/p>\n
those real Australians
\nwho’ve seen their land
\njust confiscated
\nwho can understand
\nthe wrong
\nthat’s been done
\nby the Government who
\nlacked all understanding
\nof just what to do
\nThey were and still are
\nAustralians, they
\nlive close to nature
\nin their unique way
\nforcibly trained of course to be white
\nas opposed to the great
\nfundamental birth right
\ngiven, little credence
\nand raped of their thoughts
\ndemoralised slowly
\nand jailed by the courts
\nfraught with suggestion
\ndestroyed as they sat
\nthose wonderful souls
\nknew where they were at
\nthey knew the outback,
\nthey understood
\nsustainable living
\nfor them it was good
\nthey lived in each moment
\nthe land was their place
\nthe sky and the wind
\nand the undying space
\nthey listened succinctly
\nto what the white man
\ntook upon himself
\nas he over ran
\nand destroyed their culture
\ntheir ways and their soul
\ntook them to task
\nwith abhorrent control
\nbroke them infact
\nkilled their spirit
\nand tried
\nto just take them over
\nwhich they well denied
\nI am talking about a most
\nprofound tribe
\nwhose nomadic lives we
\nall might imbibe
\nthey lived profoundly
\nthey really cared
\nthey did not pollute
\nand their knowledge they shared
\nbut over the centuries
\nwhat has been done
\nis they have been broken
\nand ruled by the gun
\nprejudice, discrimination and hate
\nfor a nation of true souls
\nwho still do create
\nlasting impressions
\nand must see, respect
\ntheir land is their land,
\noh! yes I detect
\nsome whites getting hot under the collar
\nbut they
\nmust remember in real terms
\nthey’ve had their day
\nin everyone’s history
\ntears soak the earth
\nand only time can see
\nan honest re birth
\nAustralia has to remember
\nits roots
\nin the land where the sun
\ncares for no one, and brutes
\nwho admonish the angels
\nwill begin to find
\nthe outback of guilt will soon
\nplay on their mind
\nthe world is now looking
\nat what’s going on
\nand needs to see all of the
\nprejudice gone.<\/p>\n
