A hungry Cougar approaching
\nA feeder station on
\nA ranch in Freer
\nwas gunned down
\nBy a lease hunter
\na tear
\nRan down my face precisely
\nWhen I heard the awful tale
\nHunger brought the beast
\nInto the ranch
\nThat\u2019s when they nail
\nA victim in the America\u2019s
\nA shooter who believes
\nHe has the right
\nTo end a life
\nAnd frantically achieves
\nWhat he sees as an honour
\nOn what is the gifted breed
\nMurdered in cold blood
\nBy the unfortunate
\nHunter creed<\/p>\n
It happened in the physical
\nPerhaps a stroke of luck
\nOn a ranch in Freer Texas
\nand clearly it does suck
\nHard at the emotions
\nThat a wild soul has to die
\nWhilst searching for some
\nFood of all things
\nThat which we all rely
\nIt doesn\u2019t make them visionaries
\nJust blatant uncaring fools
\nIf they were in the cougar\u2019s place
\nHunger surely rules
\nThe heart the soul the stomach
\nThe need to survive
\nAnd a feeder on a ranch in Texas
\nIt played out there live<\/p>\n
He didn\u2019t have to stalk the beast
\nThere was no hunting here
\nNo bravery just cowardly sport
\nWhich is why a tear
\nRolled out of my left eye
\nAnd finished on my chin
\nThe heartlessness of a father
\nWhen the animal looks so thin<\/p>\n
Not a trace of compassion
\nAnd eyes that cannot see
\nThe beauty of its wildness
\nAnd really just how free
\nIt was until his bullet
\nStole its future and
\nReduced it to a wretched corpse
\nJust shaking on the land<\/p>\n
A lack of appreciation
\nThank you for nothing mate
\nYou unjustifiably
\nAre something I can\u2019t rate
\nScant respect for wildness
\nFor hunger that was you
\nThe hunter your contemptuousness
\nAnd meanness was on view<\/p>\n
With your wife and daughter
\nYou drove down to Muy Grande
\nTo show off the sad Mountain Lion
\nPossibly unplanned
\nYour unconscientiousless prevailing
\nYour artfulness on fire
\nTo anybody reading this
\nWould see it all as dire
\nIgnoble and unsportsmanlike
\nSelf interest seems to me
\nFrom the snap shot on
\nOn the media
\nThe suffering we see
\nSo blatantly so obviously
\nWas the hungry creature who
\nDidn\u2019t stand an earthly
\nFrom the likes of you<\/p>\n
Wickedness prevailing
\nIt\u2019s immorality
\nThat Lion was doing you no harm
\nIt\u2019s sin was hunger, we
\nMust have regard for such a need
\nNot feel we have the right
\nTo be the judge and jury
\nAnd just put out its light
\nAnd now the world has seen you
\nYour family by your side
\nSmiling for the camera
\nYou really cannot hide
\nEveryone on Facebook
\nWho sees your ugly face
\nWill see the poor dead Cougar
\nAnd their hearts yes they will race<\/p>\n
