A cow decided
\nit was just
\nnot ready
\nlife and death was
\nnot its cup of tea
\nnot its mug of eart grey
\nnot its toast and honey
\nit got, on its bike
\nand ran away<\/p>\n
every cow and every
\nsingle earthling
\never facing
\nhaving its throat slit
\nmust have thought
\nno thank you I am out of here
\nbarbed wire fences
\nall I need is grit<\/p>\n
hoisted on a
\nbloody rusty gantry
\nand have to reminisce
\nand face the pain
\nits not as if the sun
\nhas ever shone on me
\nor for that matter
\nhave I felt the rain
\nspirited earthlings
\nhave to make the effort
\nand this young soul
\ntook on the farmer, who
\nchased her with his tractor
\nand found her
\nin a swimming pool
\nstressed out turning blue<\/p>\n
it took a lot of courage
\nand one has to be adept
\nclearly she had all the balls
\nand in that moment swept
\nacross the field and off
\nimagine who does want to die?
\nand for her efforts
\nshe’s been rescued
\nso it was worth the try<\/p>\n
a sanctuary is taking her
\nher life now it will be
\nwonderful and peaceful
\nits an end to misery
\nsun on her back,
\nrain in her face
\nfresh green grass
\nwhich will be ace
\na good news story
\na good end
\nfor she’s become
