Seventy miles from Cedar City
\nI was told there was
\nAn Eagle by the roadside
\nThat was just because
\nA trucker seemed had seen it
\nAnd as I was asked to go
\nAnd, rescue the critter
\nAs someone who should know
\nReally what to do with it
\nAnd so I drove to see
\nAnd tbere it was on a dusty path
\nReally so skinny
\nClearly it was starving
\nIn a very awful way
\nI collected it
\nAnd brought it home
\nA juvenile I’d say<\/p>\n
Its what I do I rescue
\nBut he was in bad shape
\nI needed to get him home fast
\nThere was no way he would escape
\nBack home i had a look at him
\nAs lethargic as could be
\nNot a good sign for an eagle
\nThat should be bold and free
\nOn the edge of death I reckoned
\nBut I had to try
\nMade a concoction of nutrients
\nAnd some dead mice which is why
\nI say and gave the tonic
\nThrough a small syringe
\nAnd hand fed all the mouse
\nIt was a deadly binge<\/p>\n
The eagle just about
\nWas swallowing so a good thing I
\nDid and then decided that all night
\nI would have to try and repeat
\nThe nutrition and the feed
\nTo strengthen this poor soul
\nAnd did so gently talking to the bird
\nTaking the role<\/p>\n
Of helping it to progress
\nSoaking the mouse in the nutrients too
\nClearly very very weak
\nBut I just had to do
\nEverything I could to save this eagle
\nBut alas
\nby morning it had
\nJoined its ancestors in the great morass
\nIt had given up i was just too late
\nHead down its how they Are
\nMasters of the sky in fact
\nBut unable to spar
\nWith me to even lift its head
\nI guess it had to be
\nI had done my best to save a soul
\nThat was too far gone
\nSo free<\/p>\n
As a bird an enormous spirit
\nShe quietly did expire
\nFly out of her
\nFeathered state
\nFor this world had become dire
\nUp into the pearly clouds
\nWith her ancestral flock
\nAnd had left her corpse behind
