In this great big world of ours
\nNeglect apparently
\nIs really very widespread
\nAnd animals do see
\nAnd feel a lot of terror
\nLike working donkeys they
\nGet paired up with real bastards
\nEvery single day
\nWho disregard their food intake
\nAnd the weight that they can hold
\nThey seem unconcerned and neglect them
\nWhen They are often as good as gold
\nThey work all day for a little straw
\nAnd never ever complain
\nBut struggling up those hills sometimes
\nCan bring incessant pain<\/p>\n
And it\u2019s then the donkeys slow up
\nAnd really need to rest
\nOne such donkey head down
\nNot feeling his best
\nAn ear torn off in some way
\nMaggots wriggling there
\nClearly that poor donkey
\nCrying in despair
\nThe street angels were notified
\nAnd along they came to see
\nSomehow his ear was shredded
\nThere for all to see
\nLifted him into the ambulance
\nAnd took him to the care
\nFacility to be looked At
\nAnd when he got there<\/p>\n
Covered the wound in maggot powder
\nTo kill them at a squirt
\nSyringed and washed the area
\nFor 20 days it hurt
\nBut \u201cflopsy\u201d was a fighter
\nA warrior for sure
\nHe stood up and was counted
\nLike no donkey before<\/p>\n
As the wound began to heal
\nCuddles yes we gave
\nMany cuddles every day
\nTo the little brave
\nDonkey feeding every day
\nBy hAnd our care was great
\nAnd now he runs about the yard
\nAnd stands there all sedate<\/p>\n
really he has come on a lot
\nA handsome little soul
\nWent through such a lot of pain
\nBut he was in control
\nAnd now he potters around the yard
\nChewing on the hay
\nAnd looking thoroughly happy
\nEvery single day<\/p>\n
