\nOf poachers hunters and others
\nWho trap, who poach, and who kill
\nTiny little song birds
\nAnd say they get a thrill
\nSome are sold alive from traps or nets
\nTo others who
\nWill use the birds as decoys
\nFor me to know it\u2019s true
\nThat grown men feel the need
\nTo go out shooting
\nthe song birds
\nWho delight
\nTheir Carolling rewarded
\nBy shooting them in flight<\/p>\n
Recently in Lombardy
\nA stash of victims found
\nComprising Robins,Chaffinches
\nBramblings, Siskins, bound
\nFor far off lands but shot out of the sky
\nSome Dunnock too
\nand Hawfinches all precious
\nSouls
\nIt\u2019s true
\nIn The mountains of Lombardy
\nWhere they can quietly go
\nUtter criminality
\nComplicit as we know
\nLicensed to kill birds, I hear
\nUp to, 30 per day
\nIn the shooting season
\nBut many more do pay
\nWith their lives for really
\nPolicing isn\u2019t tight
\nThey get away with murder
