I have heard that market traders
\nIn Romania create
\nA cruel and ugly spectacle
\nSuch spiteful ness does rate
\nBadly in the scheme of things
\nFor horses up for sale
\nAre abused by making them
\nHaul great logs and boulders
\nIf they fail
\nIf they collapse
\nThey are beaten
\nWhipped until they cry
\nThey pull their tails
\nSo mercilessly
\nYou have to wonder why<\/p>\n
Human beings sink this low
\nAnd Heartlessness exists
\nWhat is the point of hurting souls
\nPummelling with fists
\nDrawing blood such rancour
\nA disservice to the sale
\nWhy torture animals ever
\nIt is beyond the pale<\/p>\n
Horses are intelligent
\nObedient and they
\nWork for people it\u2019s their will
\nBut tests of strength I\u2019d say
\nWeaken and are wrongful
\nTraders ought to know
\nThat being bloody bitchy
\nWon\u2019t help the money flow<\/p>\n
Romania should have laws
\nIt\u2019s in the great EU
\nWhy are they so malicious
\nIn what they say and do
\nSurely it shows squalor
\nAnd sinister intent
\nWho would enter into a contract
\nWith a horse that\u2019s clearly spent<\/p>\n
There is a certain madness
\nAn arrogance we see
\nAll this mental torture
\nand massive misery
\nWatching horses struggle
\nCollapsing on the ground
\nMaltreated and suffering
\nAnd hearing the sound<\/p>\n
Of breathing and of torment
\nFretting on the hour
\nStress and strain and tension
\nHow can that be power
\nIt\u2019s downright cruel
\nAnd traders in Romania
\nShould be
\nHauled off to the courts and fined
\nOr be whipped themselves to see<\/p>\n
How they would like the lashings
\nCry babies I would think
\nWhere someone cannot fight back
\nReally there is a link
\nThere a proven coward at work
\nPunishing a soul
\nUsing the severity
\nTheir draconian control.<\/p>\n
