A show of force
\nWhere wildness
\nExists I have to say
\nResulting to Draconian Laws
\nCan never be the way
\nNatural England\u2019s policy
\nAn intolerance to ducks
\nPersecuting Mallards
\nHonestly it sucks
\nIt lacks all understanding
\nOf creation and I\u2019d say
\nThey may think they are masterful
\nBut it\u2019s a coercive way
\nOf handing down a sentence
\nOn the innocent and we
\nShould close down
\nThis bunch of idiots
\nWho have a history
\nOf killing birds
\nOur feathered friends
\nWith such severity
\nInflexible where business sits
\nIt\u2019s harassment I see
\nCyclists and cafe owners
\nNeed to get a life
\nSuch haughty nannyish behaviour
\nIs causing so much strife<\/p>\n
Wildness is a quality
\nPeople make me sick
\nCyclists who the hell are they
\nDo your arithmetic
\nThey have no say they do not pay
\nTaxes around about
\nNo road tax and no licence fee
\nYet they exert some clout
\nThey indulge themselves
\nOf Being ignorant
\nOf wild life and we should
\nPut them in their place
\nFor education could
\nHelp them realise
\nThat ducks and other birds
\nShould be
\nProtected not just murdered
\nBecause they do walk free
\nThey of course nest close to waterways
\nAnd cyclists who go
\nFor pleasure to these areas
\nMust share the ebb and flow
\nWe all love ducks and wild fowl
\nIt\u2019s what life is about
\nEver tried to create a duck
\nA miracle that out<\/p>\n
And needs it\u2019s place
\nWe share the air
\nAnd should share the countryside
\nIf a business has a eating space
\nAnd cyclist come to share
\nWild life has the right of way
\nRespect those that are free
\nUncontrolled uninfluenced
\nBy man who is unkind
\nSelfish wants to colonise
\nThe wild souls then I find
\nIt happening it\u2019s based around
\nIgnorance and we
\nShould try to disentangle
\nOurselves from what we see
\nIt reminds me of the fairy tale
\nOf the ogre who believed
\nBirds were just a nuisance
\nSo built high walls
\nAnd achieved
\nHis wish the birds all left
\nHis garden was soon bare
\nWhen the birds and bees
\nAccept the squeeze
\nThen there is nothing there<\/p>\n
For any of us nothing
\nIt\u2019s a malady we cause
\nOstrasizing ducks and geese
\nAnd some don\u2019t stop to pause
\nCracking eggs deliberately
\nAs demanded by
\nNatural England\u2019s misguided twerps
\nNot really knowing why
\nFrom Bedfordshire and Suffolk
\nIt\u2019s where the laws are made
\nIt\u2019s where there\u2019s lots of cyclists
\nAnd upon their heads is laid
\nThis wholesale, this brutal
\nMurder of babies still in shell
\nThe unhatched innocent offerings
\nWe offer them a Hell
\nAnd it\u2019s not just ducks I understand
\nOver the years we see
\nMoorhens curlews linnets
\nSkylarks tragically
\nMute swans kestrels
\nRavens all suffering because
\nHuman beings really are
\nPurloined of all that\u2019s true
\nIt\u2019s to do with wealth and money
\nThat has to be the view<\/p>\n
Faeces in the serving areas
\nWhen people come to eat
\nPeople feed the ducks you know
\nFeed them from their seat
\nWild souls suffer greatly
\nFor the prodigality
\nOf the ignorant
\nFor wastefulness
\nTo a squandering degree
\nIs commonplace and wildness
\nNeeds respect now everywhere
\nThe insouciance and apathy
\nOf the cyclists who share
\nThe wild places and ought to
\nKnow their place for they
\nAre coming closer to wildlife
\nOff road so to say<\/p>\n
There is a wave of nonchalance
\nA dispassionate display
\nAnd all these bodies
\nThink they have the answer
\nBut the way
\nThey go about ignoring
\nThe wild folk who should be
\nThe most important elements
\nNot end in misery
\nAnd it\u2019s terrible to contemplate
\nA river without ducks
\nA littering of humans
\nYes this picture sucks
\nI\u2019d rather see a naked lake
\nlost in a seasons charm
\nThan swarms of noisy cyclists
\nWho instead of good cause harm<\/p>\n
We have to get our facts right
\nGive the wild folk a break
\nCreation is the miracle
\nIt\u2019s us who are the fake
\nThe tedium of concrete
\nThe monotony of life
\nSome escape from soulless suburbia
\nAnd strife<\/p>\n
Some breaths of fresher air
\nFor wildness brings it\u2019s calm
\nTo venture into woods and vales
\nAnd not cause any harm
\nTo imagine we as cyclists
\nHave the right to say
\nWild ducks should be shot at Dawn
\nIf they get in our way
\nAs for Natural ENGLand
\nA body of fools me thinks
\nSat inside the concrete WiFi ridden
\nSeldom blinks
\nListening to the whiners
\nToo many it appears
\nWho really should be made to witness
\nAll the wild ducks fears
\nTo imagine ducks and drakes out there
\nTheir eggs smashed in their nest
\nCreation was the gift of life
\nA higher god knew best
\nBut now we have the cyclists
\nAnd cafe owners who
\nWant to do their business
\nAnd earn a pound or two
\nWant to share the sights and sounds
\nAs long as they stay away
\nAllow the crumbs to be dropped about
\nEvery single day
\nOf course wild folk will come along
\nTo feed it\u2019s common sense
\nAnd when the ducks relieve themselves
\nThat the atmosphere grows tense<\/p>\n
