On a hill
\nLooking over a patchwork of fields
\nDown into Chipping
\nA sky scape that builds
\nOnto tales of the past
\nSweeping all who dare look
\nand take on the myths
\nFrom my little white book<\/p>\n
The sum and the substance
\nOf Oxfordshire greenery
\nThere in the shadows
\nA stone circle sighs
\nAncient these great stones
\nGnarled wizened and broken
\nMany a mole digs it\u2019s own holes
\nSurprise!
\nMany below
\nIn the sod of the moment
\nclearly
\nAn energy
\nSecond to none
\nBreathe in a solstice
\nOr even an Equinox
\nWalk in the footsteps
\nWhich the ancients have done<\/p>\n
Its left in their passing
\nAn Indistinguishability
\nAura\u2019s far ranging
\nAnd spirits galore
\nThe heat of the moment
\nTransfixed in a cool breath
\nOf magick beyond any spell
\nFelt before
\nYou May be exhausted
\nOr windswept and shivering
\nBut stood in the circle of life
\nMost agree
\nA freshness it\u2019s as if ancestors
\nAre present
\nEach with a warmth
\nAnd An intensity<\/p>\n
Rollrights is genuine
\nDifferent and magickal
\nIt\u2019s flawless and thorough
\nAnd strangely enough
\nIt\u2019s almost like entering
\nAnother kingdom
\nDon\u2019t go there hungry
\nGet plenty of puff
\nAnd walk to the Kings Stone
\nAnd the whispering knights
\nGet your feet in the long grass
\nAnd take in the sights
\nThe wind on your face
\nThe ice and the frost
\nJust off the road
\nAnd you could well feel lost<\/p>\n
Perhaps in another world
\nFar far away
\nFrom the sludge and the budge
\nAnd the mud and the clay
\nOn a Bright day the sun shines
\nThe birds sing the light
\nIs brighter by far
\nComing down from a height
\nEven if it\u2019s wet
\nAnd Jack Frost is about
\nBiting the tips of one\u2019s ears
\nThere\u2019s no doubt
\nThe knowledge of the ancients
\nThe builders is there
\nWarming the heart strings
