“Flopsy” was old
\nAnd clearly sad
\nStanding still
\nFeeling real bad
\nA wounded ear
\nThe maggots came
\nIn the road
\nAnd did inflame
\nHis Fear apparent
\nSpitefulness
\nClearly
\nThere was no redress
\nAgony was his to hold
\nWas his to bare
\nFor he was sold
\nOn loneliness
\nOn inclemency
\nHe had not known love
\nThat certainty
\nWas his alone
\nAnd so we tried
\nTo comfort him
\nDeep down inside<\/p>\n
Back at the hospital
\nHe was bad
\nMaggot powder
\nThat we had
\nWe dusted him
\nHis wound and all
\nAnd dressed it
\nLess he may just fall
\nJust give up
\nNot wanting to
\nGo on with life
\nPerhaps a view
\nWe understood
\nBut hoped that we
\nCould change his mind
\nAnd set him free<\/p>\n
Cleaned the wound
\nEvery day
\nOffered love
\nTo help him stay
\nConfident and expressing
\nHope
\nLong sufferring
\nHe had had to cope
\nBy the twentieth day
\nHe could stand and feel
\nThe pain from before
\nWas no big deal
\nWe gave him cuddles
\nAnd kisses too
\nWe gave him love
\nThat was good and true
\n“Flopsy” had a lovely heart
\nHe had suffered a lot
\nBut now did start
\nTo relax and calm
\nAnd feel anew
\nHe ate his greens
\nAnd changed his view
\nGot better and better
\nGratefully
\nAll part of his
\nSincerity
\nhe is very old
\nBut has got the will
\nTo take each day
\nAnd to try and chill
\nOut and Live
\nAnd forget the scars
\nAnd swap them
\nFor his new found stars.<\/p>\n
