What is absolute cruelty
\nContempt for one so small
\nThe reverence of wiring
\nOnes jaws that is just all
\nPaltriness and meanness
\nWhat else can one say
\nTo do this to a lady dog
\nAnd to make the poor soul pay<\/p>\n
Imagine just imagine that
\nNothing could be worse
\nDrinking eating breathing
\nIt is an eternal curse
\nExhausting her through agony
\nBreaking her spirit she
\nWas suffering the awful stress
\nOf contemptibility<\/p>\n
We took her to the hospital
\nAnd removed the wire
\nHealed the laceration
\nIt must have felt like fire
\nBurning in her gullet
\nWho ever did this they
\nJust perish in the fire and a
\nWrath
\nThat is what I say<\/p>\n
We told her we would love her
\nAnd nobody would care
\nTo hurt her no not ever
\nMaking her aware
\nShe just laid in a basket
\nMorose and feeling sad
\nWe loved her and we fed her
\nBut still she just felt bad<\/p>\n
Her spirit clearly broken
\nThe cruelty she felt
\nIt took eight months of loving
\nAnd caring till we dealt
\nBetter cards and helped her see
\nOur loving healing care
\nWas enlivening her spirit
\nAnd making her more aware<\/p>\n
And then she met a puppy
\nWith joyous spirit who
\nLoved her clearly loved her
\nAnd they both loved to do
\nSimilar things together
\nPlaying everyday
\nChasing bits of paper
\nAnd what can we say<\/p>\n
The two of them together
\nWere friends they really were
\nEach had been a victim
\nAnd whatever did occur
\nThey seemed to bond
\nTogether
\nAnd run Round at pace
\nTails wagging
\nNever flagging
