A pitiful sight of sorrow
\nIn the sewerage he lay
\nBroken hearted
\nSoon departed
\nA soul
\nWho now was way
\nCloser to his maker
\nThe street scene around about
\nLamentably his suffering
\nWas now without a doubt<\/p>\n
Ribs protruding
\nEmaciated
\nClosing in on death
\nPicked up by the angels
\nAnd close to losing breath
\nStalbilized and given
\nIv fluids to
\nHelp with dehydration
\nAnd the awful view<\/p>\n
Of a poor dog
\nIn a lowly state
\nAbandoned long before
\nTotally exhausted
\nAnd clearly very sore
\nAll over
\nCouldnt walk at all
\nAs wobbly as hell
\nAfter cleansing him
\nWe brought him to the sunlight
\nAnd be fell<\/p>\n
Over weak and very sad inside
\nBut gradually we found
\nThe old boy
\nGrey of whiskers
\nSoon he got around
\nAnd before long he was
\nBouncing and being loved again
\n“Shyam” just a gentle soul
\nWhose life was free of pain<\/p>\n
He might have had sad memories
\nHis face though had a glow
\nHe just loved to be cuddled
\nAs many of us know
\nLonely in our rooms we feel
\nLost I have to say
\nSo to see the angels in the streets
\nAnd then to watch them play<\/p>\n
Feel the joy of caring
\nJoin in with others who
\nAlso once were victims
\nAnd now do what they do
\nHelping each other to improve life
\nAround the yard each day
